One of my co-workers brought in this premie diaper today, her brother's baby was born at 5 mnths, some 1+lbs. The family is afraid and praying diligently for him, as am I.
But, I can't help but think of what a miracle the birth of a child really is. This is the second incident in less than two years where I knew someone who had there baby so early that it could seem like nothing more that a miracle that this child is now a happy and healthy baby.
This is why it truly infuriates me when paren'ts don't truly appreciate the blessing bestowed upon them to be able to share, shape and mold the life of another human being.
Motherhood though it holds soo many ups and downs, has been by far one of the greatest experiences of my life. I have gotten immense pleasure from watching my son absorb knowledge like a sponge. I have watched his photographic memory as the wheels turn and he can recite a poem after reading it twice. I have often even wished that I had been blessed with that gift, when I was having to struggle over hours of homework, and studying.
I have watched as my daughter's personality takes shape, and I find humor in the fact that she is a lot like me, to a fault. It amazes me that she can at the age of 2 have more attitude than a grown woman, and more determination than I have ever seen in a child, hell... in some adults..
Anyway, seeing that diaper really made me stop to smell the perpetual roses... and realize just how blessed I really am...
Well, the kids, well Anthony(10), have been on Spring Break all this week. And, working for the school system, they let us off at 1:00p, and we have Thursday and Friday off.
I am so excited to have the break, I have some major home projects that I am working on the top of my list, is Anthony's room. Once again, its time to try to bring some order to his space. Why is this a constant battle with us? When he was 5 he had the cleanest room I had ever seen, now... I have to REMIND him every day. Have you done your daily chore? Mind you he earns an allowance for cleaning his room..
Motherhood.. oh the joys.. I caught a major sale at Target today and got a lot of hanging shelves for my closet. So, tommorow i will working diligently to set them up..
Busy day tommorow, gotta take close to the alterations lady, cleaners, drop off my comforters to be dry cleaned, wash and dye my hair.. time for some summer lightening...Get the face fixed on my honeys watch.. running... running
