I went to my Weight Watchers meeting last night, this is my 7th week on the program. But only, the 2nd meeting that I have attended, and just go for my weigh-ins. There is always some reason why I can't stay, but I decided to commit to at least one meeting a month.
Last night the speaker touched on something that got the wheels to turning in my head, she talked about how life is a constant opportunity to reinvent onself. I thought about it at the time in the weight loss sense, but she made us look at it another way. There are numerous things in your life that if done incorrectly you are forced to repeat. Although that process may be grueling, when you do it the second, or third time undoubtedly you are better at it, more calm, and more commited than the time before. When you look at it this way, falling down, losing your balance, or being knocked out of the game, doesn't sound so much like failure, but rather like growing pains, It almost seems like needed steps in a process to make you, who or what you are, or will become.
Undoubtedly, who I thought I wanted to be at 17, is a lot different than who I wanted to be at 25, and even who I want to be now, at the ripe old age of 31. My dreams and aspirations have changed, my take on life has changed, and even my tolerance levels have changed.
We are in a constant state of change and motion. From our waistlines, to our by lines... But, the amazing thing about that is that we have a good deal of control about a lot of these things. We each play an active role in attaining those things we set as priorities. The struggle may be hard, the road bumpy and the final goal may loom far in the distance. But, we are CAPABLE, now we just have to be willing.. and committed.
Anway, like I said this inspired me.. and I hope it inspires you. Trudge Forward.. Reach for your Goals, an Attain even that which may seem unattainable...
